Rice export rises in 8 months
Vietnam exported nearly 4.5 million tons of rice, valuing US $2 billion, or with an average CIF price of US $408.6 per ton, in the first 8 months of this year, according to the Vietnam Food Association.
Compared to the same period last year, the rice export sees the year-on-year increases of 41.9% in quantity and nearly 6.3% in value. As of August 27, enterprises in the country had signed contracts to export more than 5.6 million tons of rice, up 66.6% against the same period last year, of which roughly 4.5 million tons were delivered. The association& # 39;s members have purchased 369,459 tons of rice, realizing 92.4% of a plan on buying rice for stock to assist farmers in the Mekong Delta. They will gather in the southern province of Bac Lieu on September 7 to assess domestic and foreign rice purchase to implement the similar plans in the future. Vinanet
